What is LED?
LED, or Light Emitting Diode therapy is a non-invasive energy-based treatment that utilises specific wavelengths of light to target various skin concerns. Different wavelengths of LED light have unique properties: 415nm, shines blue and targets acne-causing bacteria, 633 nm, shines red light and stimulates collagen production and reduces inflammation, while 830nm or near-infrared light is generally invisible and enhances cellular repair and regeneration.
LED therapy helps to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity, reduce acne breakouts, and promote overall skin health. It is painless, gentle, and suitable for all skin types, offering a safe and effective option for achieving radiant, youthful-looking skin.
Benefits of LED Therapy:
- Stimulates Collagen Production: LED therapy stimulates the production of collagen, a protein essential for maintaining the skin's elasticity and firmness, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduces Acne and Breakouts: By killing acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation, LED therapy helps to clear up existing breakouts and prevents future ones from occurring.
- Improves Skin Tone and Texture: LED therapy promotes cellular regeneration, resulting in smoother, more even-toned skin with a healthy glow.
- Reduces Redness and Irritation: LED therapy is effective in reducing redness, inflammation, and irritation associated with rosacea, sunburn, and other skin conditions.
- Speeds up Healing: LED therapy accelerates the skin's natural healing process, making it an excellent treatment for post-procedure recovery and reducing downtime.
The treatment lasts approximately 13-20 minutes and is very relaxing, however, you may experience a bright sensation. Suitable for all skin types and tones, this treatment is also safe for clients who are breastfeeding*.
